SAMANAYA NSS CAMP - DAY 6

 DAY - 6

On the 6th day, our schedule was packed. Our group named 'Kaliyar' was assigned to the kitchen duty. We began the morning with a refreshing cup of tea followed by a rejuvenating yoga session. After the morning Assembly and a hearty breakfast at 9 am, we kicked off the day's activities.

Today, our first session was a field visit to an organic farm near Parottukonam. We had the opportunity to explore a paddy field and witness the diverse range of organic products cultivated and manufactured by the farm.

The office authorities provided us with a comprehensive overview of their organic farming practices and the various techniques employed. We learned about the seamless integration of scientific knowledge and natural methods, along with the utilization of modern technologies to enhance their operations.

The visit was an eye-opening experience, showcasing the potential of organic farming to produce high-quality, sustainable, and environmentally friendly agricultural products. It highlighted the importance of adopting a balanced approach that combines traditional wisdom with innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by the agricultural sector.

We diligently prepared and enjoyed our lunch at 12:30 pm.

Our next destination was Veli Beach, where we participated in an environmental awareness program. Upon arrival, we were divided into groups and tasked with cleaning various sections of the Veli Beach Park.

After completing the beach cleaning task, we proceeded to the final part of the environmental awareness program, which was named 'UDAN'. We were divided into groups and given the opportunity to create our own kites. The group members, which included skilled craft artists, collaborated to design and construct their unique kites.

Once the kite-making activity was finish group enthusiastically launched their creations into the sky. The sight of the colorful kites soaring above the beach was a joyous and symbolic representation of our collective efforts to raise awareness about environmental conservation.

As the program drew to a close, we gathered together to light lanterns and bid farewell to the Veli Beach. The experience of working together, learning about sustainable practices, and engaging in creative activities left a lasting impression on all of us. It was a meaningful and fulfilling way to spend the day, promoting environmental stewardship and fostering a sense of community among the participants.

We returned to the college at 7 pm, refreshed for the Valedictory function after a tiring day. Following the function, we wrapped up with a Camp reflection session and dinner, celebrating our achievements and sharing our experiences.

With our bellies full and minds focused, we prepared ourselves for the exciting programs lined up for the day ahead.

Our first session of the day commenced at 10:30 AM at a neighboring institution, Jayamatha ITI College. The session was titled "VIGNJAN," and we were divided into two groups, each with assigned duties. One group took classes on Mathematics, English, and Science subjects. The students actively participated and engaged enthusiastically with us, eager to learn. Meanwhile, the other group, consisting of our classmates and fellow artist friends, set out to paint the entrance wall of Jayamatha College, choosing the theme "Nature" as their canvas. After a productive morning filled with teaching and creating, we gathered for a well-deserved lunch at 12:30 PM.

At approximately 3 pm, our next session commenced, featuring a self-defense class led by the lady pink police officers from the Kerala Police Department. This session, aptly named 'Karuthu', showcased a range of effective self-defensive techniques that would prove invaluable for the prospective teachers in attendance. The officers, part of the Kerala Police's initiative to empower women with self-defense skills, demonstrated various methods that could be employed in different scenarios, further emphasizing the department's commitment to women's safety and security.

By 5 pm, the college auditorium came alive with cultural programs, where we, the teacher trainees, showcased a diverse array of talents through skits, dances, and musical performances. The atmosphere was filled with energy and creativity as we entertained and engaged the audience with our cultural activities.
